The smaller square, in a natural wood tone

The size

BJDesign kotatsu, natural wood tone. The top is 29 inches by 29 inches, and the height is 14.2 inches. Wood frame. It weighs about 38 pounds.

The heater

Same style of quartz-tube heater as the larger BJDesign, on 120 volts. A knob sets the temperature. The cord has an on/off switch. Heat starts in about 10 to 15 seconds.

The guard

A power fuse, and a resin cover over the heating element.

Setup

Bare-hands assembly. No tools. With the cover off, it is a low coffee table.

A blanket

A kotatsu futon or a queen blanket can be tucked between the legs and the top.

Seats

Room for one person to lie down. Sitting around it is tight, and it still seats up to four.
