Salt, a sight, and three feet

How it shoots

The Yellow 3.0 is a pump gun that uses ordinary table salt. No batteries. Slide the grip to cock it, and the hopper holds about 80 shots. A stronger spring tightens the salt pattern, and the hopper is built for a fast reload.

The sight

The barrel sits higher than on the older guns, with a Patridge sight on top. Useful range is about three feet, close enough to pick off a fly in the air. The trigger is light, so it goes off easier than you expect.

The safety

A cross-bolt safety stays on until you push it off, and stays off until you push it back. This is for responsible adults. Do not point it at people, pets, or anything you would not hit with salt.

What it hits

It is meant for soft bugs: houseflies, mosquitoes, moths, earwigs, cabbage worms, lantern flies, and roaches that are not the giant ones. Hits can splatter instead of leaving the bug whole. Stinging insects can come back at you, and it will not work on carpenter bees.
